Job Description

We are seeking a Customer & Market Intelligence Manager to build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of insights into London’s SMEs which is easily accessible to colleagues within BLL, and which can be used extensively and incisively in pursuit of BLL’s business objectives.
Our vision is to become the No.1 brand for the provision of business advice and assistance to London’s SME’s.
The Role:
• Create and position business and market information as a key strategic driver, as well as assisting to create a knowledge culture within BLL. • Develop working relationships with others to identify internal sources and facilitate the sharing and exchange of information via Sharepoint. • Facilitate regular cross-functional knowledge sharing workshops and carry out regular and ad hoc information knowledge audits. • Understand and analyse all the available sources of information including desk research, primary research, client diagnostic reports, the CRM system and individuals’ knowledge. • Using the above methods, build a picture for the business of London’s business demographics (including sub-regional) and the social and cultural aspects of local businesses, to include
1) SME issues, regulation and government policy as it affects SMEs, 2) Trends and changes in London’s economy 3) Characteristics of growth businesses across London’s priority sectors 4) Business opportunities associated with London’s major developments, especially the 2012 Olympics
• Develop, manage and disseminate appropriate knowledge products to serve the needs of the business with a particular emphasis on the needs of:
1) The Website team 2) The Service Delivery team and their clients 3) The Executive team 4) The Strategy & Planning Manager 5) The Partnerships team
• Through specific and general research, data mining and networking intelligence, build and maintain a knowledge base that empowers the organisation to deliver success: this will be achieved by thorough collection, collation, analysis and interpretation of information. • Commission and manage any ad hoc or regular primary research, as required by the Senior Strategy & Market Intelligence Manager. • Diversity statement – (Demonstrate commitment to upholding and representing BLL’s diversity, equal opportunity and inclusion policies/agenda in all business and client dealings)
Skills & Achievements
• Knowledge management expertise, including the development of knowledge and information based products. • Proven background in information research, analysis and management. • Practical working experience with SME businesses and the business support sector. • Sound organisational and business awareness. • Ability to plan and organise resources. • Ability to communicate facts and concepts effectively in both written and verbal formats. • Demonstrable innovation and creativity in carrying out research tasks. • Proven ability to build effective working relationships.
